    As the global community works to solve global challenges, innovative geospatial solutions are increasingly recognized as essential tools for addressing complex societal challenges. This workshop will focus on the transformative potential of GeoAI and foundational models in promoting sustainable development.

    The workshop will be organized in two sessions. The first session will explore GeoAI applications, showcasing real-world examples and case studies that highlight how geospatial artificial intelligence is being employed to tackle critical issues. Presenters will share insights on the practical implementation of GeoAI technologies in various contexts, demonstrating their effectiveness in driving progress toward the SDGs.

    The second session will delve into Geospatial Foundation Models, emphasizing their role in enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of geospatial analysis. This presentation will cover the development, training, and application of foundational models tailored for sustainable development initiatives, providing valuable insights into their integration into existing frameworks.

    Participants will include members of the UN GGIM thematic networks, academia, and the private sector, fostering an environment for knowledge sharing and collaboration. This workshop aims to inspire new approaches that leverage GeoAI and foundational models to shape a sustainable future and advance the global agenda for sustainable development.
