With FuturePitch, we empower students and educators to engage with sustainability, innovation, and product development in a hands-on, creative, and AI-supported way. In this two-level workshop, participants tackle real-world challenges. In the first part of the workshop, teams transform their ideas into low-tech prototypes using paper, cardboard, creativity, and the power of AI. Their goal: pitch a compelling vision for the future.

With more time available, students advance to the second part of the workshop. With guidance from expert mentors, they enhance their prototypes with sensors, actuators, visual coding, and micro:bit technology. The final pitch? A next-level presentation that blends innovation, tech, and purpose.

By the end of the workshop, learners will be able to:

  • Describe the basic functions of micro:bit components, sensors, and visual coding environments like MakeCode
  • Apply design thinking strategies to develop an initial prototype in response to a selected global challenge.
  • Use AI tools and visual programming to enhance the functionality of a prototype.
  • Analyze how the integration of technology can increase the impact and scalability of a solution.
  • Provide constructive feedback on peer projects through structured pitching sessions.
  • Design and present a working, AI- and micro:bit-enhanced prototype that communicates a compelling solution to a real-world problem.
