As AI becomes part of children’s everyday lives, its impact on their rights, safety, and development is immediate and growing. Yet children’s perspectives are still too often missing. This session brings their voices to the forefront while highlighting the Joint Statement on AI and the Rights of the Child, a collective UN commitment to protect and advance children’s rights in the age of AI. With contributions from across the UN system and insights grounded in what children themselves are saying, the discussion will focus on how to translate this commitment into tangible changes, in policy, in design, and in the way AI is built and used around the world.
