Life can change in an instant, sometimes dramatically. A stroke, or even a bike accident on the way to work, can result in severe motor impairments. That’s exactly what happened to a colleague of Amine Metani, inspiring him to create Kurage. Functional electrical stimulation (FES) is a powerful technique designed to restore functional movement and support recovery. Although it has been known for over half a century, FES remains underutilized due to its complexity and the high level of expertise it traditionally requires.

By harnessing the power of AI, Kurage has transformed FES into a user-friendly solution, enabling complex activities such as walking and allowing for personalized treatments across a range of conditions.

This innovation expands access to FES for people affected by stroke, multiple sclerosis, or spinal cord injury, offering them tailored rehabilitation protocols and significantly enhancing the transformative potential of this technology.
