This two-unit course engages students with activities that demystify generative AI. Through hands-on projects and ethical discussions, students gain the skills to become creators and critical thinkers in an AI-powered world. Students learn to customize language models using Code.org’s AI Chat lab, which provides students with the tools to select language models, apply system prompts, and curate retrieval information. Students create chatbots to solve a variety of problems, and interrogate the validity of responses and appropriate use of chatbots in society.
