Our goals
The AI and Robotics Youth Training Programme is designed to help students, teachers and schools access practical learning opportunities in AI and robotics. It presents the programme as a structured, inspiring and accessible journey that connects digital skills, experimentation and real-world impact.
What the programme delivers
Four core components form the backbone of the AI and Robotics Youth Training Programme, from capacity building to global showcase.
  • Teacher training

Educators receive training, curriculum resources, and facilitation support to deliver the programme locally.

  • AI school clubs

Implemented as a localized extracurricular learning pathway in selected secondary schools, enabling ongoing practice and hands-on learning led by trained teachers.

  • National robotics challenges

Students apply their knowledge through competitions connected to the global Robotics for Good Youth Challenge.

  • Feedback and scale-up

Learning outcomes and implementation insights feed back into curriculum refinement, future delivery cycles, and the Giga Learning Hub, supporting reuse and scaling across other Giga-engaged countries.

How the programme works
Young AI Leaders journey
  • Phase 01
    Build Foundations
Partnerships with national institutions, schools, and local coordinators.
  • Phase 02
    Empower educators
Training-of-trainers workshops equip educators with curriculum and teaching tools.
  • Phase 03
    Active learning
Students participate in AI and robotics learning activities through school clubs.
  • Phase 04
    Local experience
Students showcase projects in country-level robotics challenges.
  • Phase 05
    Global stage
Winning teams participate in the final stage at the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva.
Where the programme is being implemented
The programme begins with pilot implementations across five countries, combining local partnerships with a shared international framework designed for scaling.

Countries :

  • Côte d’Ivoire
  • Ghana
  • Kenya
  • Nigeria
  • South Africa
Expected impact
The programme is designed to create lasting change across education systems, communities, and the broader innovation landscape.
  • Youth empowerment
Young people gain confidence and practical skills to innovate.
  • Teacher capacity building
Educators are equipped to deliver AI and robotics education.
  • Digital inclusion
AI learning opportunities expand to underserved communities.
  • Sustainable ecostystem
A scalable model driven by AI School Clubs and teacher training.
