    Generative AI represents a major inflection point for education, offering both unprecedented opportunities for personalization and significant challenges regarding academic integrity and skill readiness. The talk will describe research questions in this context, and work done at Google to develop tools and products in this field.

     

    Session Objectives:

    By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

    • Analyze how generative AI transforms personalization and assessment practices in education.
    • Evaluate the opportunities and risks of AI tools with respect to academic integrity and future skill readiness.
    • Compare different research directions and product approaches for integrating AI into educational workflows.
    • Assess real-world examples of AI-powered learning tools developed at Google and their implications for teaching and learning.

     

    Recommended Mastery Level / Prerequisites:

    • Upper undergraduate to graduate level.
    • Basic familiarity with machine learning concepts and current digital learning platforms is recommended; no advanced technical background in AI is required.
