NeuroExo

NeuroExo

NeuroExo is a wireless, low-cost, easy-to-use, mobile, dry-electrode headset for scalp electroencephalography (EEG) recordings for closed-loop brain–computer (BCI) interface and internet-of-things (IoT) applications. An application of NeuroExofor neurorehabilitation after stroke will be demonstrated. The device can be used at the clinic or home. Developed at the University of Houston’s IUCRC BRAIN Center (https://nsfbrain.org), the NeuroExo capitalizes on the benefits of non-invasive brain interfaces that extract information about the user’s motor intent and the real-time assessment of impairment and recovery of motor function (https://stories.uh.edu/2022-stroke-rehab/index.html). NeuroExo supports six key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): No Poverty, Good Health and Well-being, Reduced Inequalities, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Industry Innovation and Infrastructure, and Partnerships for the Goals.
