Michl Binderbauer
Michl Binderbauer is Chief Executive Officer of TAE Technologies and a co-inventor of many of the company’s technological advances.
Over the last two decades, Michl has evolved TAE into an industry leader in the field of fusion and expanded the company’s technology portfolio to now include power management solutions for energy storage, electric mobility, grid efficiency, and fast charging. Together, these innovations form the backbone of an electrified clean energy ecosystem.
Michl spearheaded a partnership with Google to apply machine learning and AI technology to fusion research. TAE and Google jointly developed the Optometrist Algorithm, which combines human and computer intelligence to exponentiate the efficiency of learning.
Michl holds many U.S. and international technology patents. He has published papers in the world’s leading peer-reviewed journals, including Science, Physical Review Letters, Nature Communications, and more. He has been featured in Time, The New York Times, The New Yorker, Bloomberg, MIT Technology Review, and PBS NewsHour.
Michl holds a Ph.D. in physics from UC Irvine, under the guidance of fusion energy pioneer, Norman Rostoker.
