Javier Hourcade Bellocq

Javier Hourcade Bellocq is Argentinean and lives in Buenos Aires. He is a journalist with a master’s degree in institutional communication. He started working on HIV in 1988 when he was diagnosed HIV positive. Since then, he worked in national CBO´s and NGOs in Argentina, regional, and global networks of people living with HIV.

He is the founder and editor of the Key Correspondent Team (KC), a civil society community journalism initiative. The KC team publishes information from and out of Latin American and the Caribbean on HIV, Sexual and Reproductive Rights and Health, TB, and Hepatitis to keep people informed and empowered, and to influence decision-makers.

He is a former member of the UNAIDS Program Coordinating Board, a Board Member of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria (GFATM), and served as the Chair of the Global Network of People Living with HIV (GNP+), among other regional and global governance roles.

Currently, he is a Board Member of the International Consortium of AIDS Service Organizations (ICASO), a member of the communities delegation at the GFATM Board Delegation, and serves in many advisory committees. He is a member of the UVC 2030 Steering Committee and CSEM.
