Floating Robotics automates labor-intensive tasks in farming with robotic hand manipulation, vision, and AI. Our ambition is to teach robots various skills and prepare them to serve farmers 24/7 like farm assistants. High-value crops demand such automation throughout the world due to labor shortage problems.
We give a hand to farmers! This is formally a robotic manipulator equipped with shears, cameras, and a state-of-the-art edge computer to recognize fruits and pick them from the peduncle. Harvesting from the peduncle avoids bruising and the spread of diseases compared to soft grippers. Our setup mounts on existing pipe trolleys in greenhouses to move around and complete rows one after the other. Today, we harvest and de-leaf tomatos, also estimate yield, harvest, and pre-prune grape vines.
