The AI for Good Impact Awards recognize organizations and initiatives using AI to address real-world challenges and create measurable positive impact. Organized by the International Telecommunication Union, the awards celebrate AI solutions that are improving lives, protecting the environment, and building more resilient and inclusive economies.

The 2026 edition attracted close to 300 applications from 65 countries, representing a diverse range of organizations, including SMEs, large corporations, academic and research institutions, non-profit organizations, government bodies, international organizations, and individual contributors. Applications were evaluated by an international panel of judges bringing together world-leading expertise in AI, public policy, scientific research, sustainable development, and responsible innovation.

From addressing fundamental human needs to conserving ecosystems and expanding access to jobs, finance, and public services, this year’s finalists demonstrate how AI is being deployed to solve real-world challenges and create measurable impact at scale.

From innovation to impact

The 2026 finalists demonstrate how AI is increasingly moving beyond pilot projects and proof-of-concept applications to become a practical tool for addressing complex challenges. Across the three award categories, finalists are already supporting workers, students, farmers, communities, conservation efforts, public institutions, and humanitarian organizations.

While their approaches vary, these initiatives share a common characteristic: a focus on measurable outcomes. Whether improving food security, protecting biodiversity, expanding financial inclusion, strengthening public services, or making labor markets safer and more equitable, the finalists illustrate the growing maturity of AI for Good solutions worldwide.

A global community of AI innovators

The 2026 finalists emerged from a highly competitive and globally representative pool of applicants. Submissions were received from 65 countries across six continents, reflecting the growing international momentum behind AI solutions designed to create positive impact.
