What tracking technologies are used by AI for Good?
Cookies. Cookies are small pieces of text sent by your web browser by a website you visit. A cookie file is stored in your web browser and allows the Website and Platform or a third-party to recognize you and make your next visit easier and the Platform more useful to you. Cookies can be “persistent” or “session based” cookies.
Local Storage. Local storage allows storing data locally on a user’s device. We use local storage to improve users experience, for example, by enabling features, remembering your preferences and speeding up site functionality.
How does AI for Good use tracking technologies?
When you use and access the Website or Platform, we may place a number of cookie files in your web browser.
We use cookies for the following purposes: to enable certain functions, to enable certain embedded functions, to collect analytics and statistics about, to store your preferences, to enable advertisements delivery, including behavioural advertising.
We use both session and persistent cookies and we use different types of cookies.
Google Analytics.
Our website uses third party Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics is a simple, easy-to-use tool that helps website owners measure how users interact with website content. As a user navigates between web pages, Google Analytics provides website owners JavaScript tags (libraries) to record information about the page a user has seen, for example the URL of the page. Google Analytics collect following data: time of visit, pages visited, and time spent on each page of the webpages, referring site details (such as the URI a user came through to arrive at this site), type of web browser, type of operating system (OS), flash version, JavaScript support, screen resolution, and screen color processing ability, network location and IP address, document downloads, clicks on links leading to external websites, errors when users fill out forms, clicks on videos, scroll depth, interactions with site-specific widgets. Third party cookies.
On some pages we may embed recorder videos and live video streams hosted on YouTube.com or Vimeo.com. The videos embedded by Event Organisers available in Online Event’s auditorium page will play automatically. In order to make this functionality available we use third party cookies and local storage as described below. Video functionality is a crucial part of our features and services. YouTube or Vimeo won’t store information about our visitors, unless they play the video or open the auditorium page.
