As AI evolves from chatbots into multimodal systems embedded in our homes, workplaces, and public environments, a new challenge emerges: how do we design intelligence that enhances human life without overwhelming it?

While the AI industry continues to focus on capability, automation, and agents, the next frontier lies in human experience. How should intelligence appear, behave, and coexist within everyday In this session, participants will explore Design for Humanity, a framework for creating emotionally resonant, culturally aware and socially integrated AI systems. Drawing from Shosa, the Japanese philosophy of mindful movement and embodied presence, the session examines how gesture, rhythm, spatial awareness and nonverbal communication can shape the future of human-AI interaction.

Through multimodal AI research and real-world projects, including Future Dialogue, responsive environments, Quiet AI, and the emerging IKEBANA ROBOT initiative, this talk demonstrates how intelligence can be expressed not only through language, but through presence, behavior, and affordance.

Attendees will discover practical approaches for designing AI systems that support human flourishing, foster trust, and create meaningful relationships between people, intelligent technologies, and the environments they inhabit.
